What or who is the spirit of the town of Bernau? Which ghost has survived? Which spirit will return? Can the spirit be lost?
An approach to the spirit of the town of Bernau in the form of my personal photographic exploration of Bernau's urban space and in interaction with its inhabitants. An intensive process of searching for traces together in resonance with the personal history of its inhabitants.
Over several months, I explored the town of Bernau and its history(ies) photographically at countless locations, museums and archives and let myself be guided by some Bernau residents to their special places. This was accompanied by an audio work with original recordings of Bernau residents.
